export ANT_HOME=/programs/apache-ant-1.9.9
export PATH=${PATH}:${ANT_HOME}/bin

If using a non-default java (current default: openjdk 13.0.2), also set JAVA_HOME to the appropriate location, e.g., 

export JAVA_HOME=/usr/local/jdk1.8.0_121

NOTE: this version of ant will work with  JDK 1.5 and higher.
