Details for progressiveCactus (If the copy-pasted commands do not work, use this tool to remove unwanted characters)

Name:progressiveCactus
Version:20181008
OS:Linux
About:Whole genome aligner
Added:11/18/2014 12:56:38 PM
Updated:10/8/2018 12:10:00 PM
Link:https://github.com/glennhickey/progressiveCactus
Notes:

ProgressiveCactus binaries are now built into the cactus docker image, see cactus instructions (https://biohpc.cornell.edu/lab/userguide.aspx?a=software&i=538#c) for running cactus in docker.

old instructions:

Run the program like this:

/programs/progressiveCactus20170717/bin/runProgressiveCactus.sh [options]

Plese note that BioHPC is not a cluster environment and SGE (or any other queueuing system) is not available. Therefore, any cluster-specific options of Cactus will not work.

Note also, that Cactus is very memory- and CPU-intensive (see the maual for details). Therefore, the best machines to run it on are the large-memory machines cbsulm*.
